Our farmers see themselves as caretakers of the land. Their job is to grow soils and create ecosystems that will continue to produce healthy sustainable food for generations to come.
Animal Welfare
Our farmers strive to ensure their cows have the very best life so they enjoy the freedom to express natural traits. They have access to outdoor nutrient-rich multi-species pastures 365 days a year. There are strict standards for certified organic producers when it comes to the care and treatment of animals and our farmers see their cows as part of their family, treating them with the respect and care they deserve.
Eating well
The world is looking for health, wellness, and traceability of food. Certified organic food can provide the certainty that the organic food you are purchasing has been independently audited to strict standards. This ensures it is free from chemicals, has been produced in an ethical and healthy way, as well as tasting fantastic. When buying organic look out for the certified organic stickers to ensure you are buying an authentic organic product.
AsureQuality & BioGro
ODH and our farmers use both AsureQuality and BioGro to certify their land and animals. AsureQuality Limited is a state-owned Enterprise fully owned by the Government of New Zealand. The company’s business lies in the areas of Food Safety and Biosecurity. Today it provides food safety and biosecurity services globally, with organic certification offered to organic producers, processors, and retailers in a wide variety of industries.
BioGro is a New Zealand-based certification agency formed in 1983. It has IFOAM, JAS and ISO17020 accreditation. The BioGro logo guarantees that a product is made without animal testing, genetic modification and the routine use of synthetic pesticides. It is the mark of a genuine organic product. BioGro certification is internationally recognised and accredited.
