Our History
Our story begins almost a century ago when a group of farming families chose to farm their land using organic principals. Expertise and knowledge was shared between these farmers, resulting in more organic farmers joining the group. Decades later a mutual goal to collectively market their produce has been realised by forming a stand-alone business.
In 2015 37 organic dairy farmers came together and officially formed Organic Dairy Hub, a 100% New Zealand farmer owned co-operative. They believed that by joining together as one, with one common passion, the Hub would be a platform of highly skilled organic farmers. As one, these farmers work together to make a real difference on their New Zealand land, for their animals, their environment and their families. They produce organic milk for the world to enjoy.
Our shareholders’ goal was achieved. The dedication put in at that time to form a Co-op remains today. Our vision now is to grow and diversify beyond liquid milk whilst continuing to ‘do what our farmers do best, live and breathe quality organic farming practices’. Our foundation shareholders have provided a strong base, they have led the way and stand proud in the Co-op they belong to.
Our Farmers
All our farmers are certified organic to multiple international markets. Each farm is independently audited so our consumers have the peace of mind that our products are exactly what we say they are – free from genetic modifications, pesticides, insecticides, chemical fertiliser, growth hormones and antibiotics.
Our Farms
We have hubs of family farms across the North Island of New Zealand. Our farmers believe farming organically is best for the land, animals, environment and the consumer. We have farmer families who have cared for the land for almost a century, ensuring our organic farming practices are maintained for future generations.
Our Environment
It’s not just about milk, our farmers have a deep connection and respect for the land and believe in organic and biological farming principals. We care for our farming environment and habitat by ensuring a diverse range of plantings are on farm to provide ecological support for birds and insects.
